Devlog 0.1.1 (Day 1 Re-work & Background artist addition)


Hello, people! It took a few days longer than I thought it'd take, but we have our Day 1, hopefully improved and closer to the vision we wanted to share about Cor than the previous one. The downloadable versions might seem the same, but changes have been made. Most of the changes are specified on the previous Devlog, but I'll list them here, plus a few new ones. Besides, we have an announcement to make regarding backgrounds later~ Sorry for this super long devlog, we're excited.

Changes of Day 1:

  • The beginning of Day 1 has been changed. The train's choices have been removed in favor of having a single scene with most of the characters to have a better intro for them.
  • Day 1 has an extra CG to introduce the player to the protagonist more clearly.
  • Due to some critiques I've read, Robert now states that the choice he makes at the house is not super important. It'll have its small effect on the story, but it's not a route lock. You can choose who to spend time with, but you won't get stuck with them the rest of the days.
  • The ending of Day 1 is also slightly different.
  • Small grammar mistakes have been fixed along the way.
  • A Gallery mode has been added. So far there's only two CGs, so it's mostly a test to see how it'd work, and will most likely be reworked over time, but it's a starting point.
  • A choice to decide if you want to see NSFW scenes has been added the first time you start the game. There
    are no NSFW scenes yet, nor there'll be any for some time, but it's an option we wanted to have from the beginning. This option can be changed again in the Options menu.
  • Music has been twitched a bit in order to make all the tracks have a similar volume. Fair warning that this might mean music will be too loud starting the game, remember you can change the volume in Options. Let us know if this is still a problem so we can keep working on that~

Now, the other notorious thing is that the artist Fuffy (https://twitter.com/FuffyArt) joined our team as a background artist! So far we've been experimenting to see how we want to handle backgrounds from now on, but the main idea is to still use our filter to give the backgrounds the feeling they already have, although probably tone them down so they're not annoyingly colorful. This will mean that, at some point, we'll be able to make our own vision of the areas Robert will explore in Cor instead of depending on photos, which will make -everything- way easier. But that might take some time until it's fully implemented, we'll have to work with what we have for now. But we're really excited about this!

I don't mind small bugs, after all I do play android ports too and those are of course not optimized in the slightest. I wish you to be successful, so you can work on your project further on.  :)
